Knowsley’s Magic of Youth Work

13 February 2025

Knowsley’s Magic of Youth Work event during National Youth Work Week in November was a huge success! Co-produced with Knowsley Youth Cabinet (KYC) ensuring the event was by young people for young people, hosted by Ruby and Lucas. Some might say a modern-day Ant and Dec. The fact that 70 people attended is a clear sign of its impact.

The event showcased the great youth work happening in Knowsley and the incredible talent of local young people through performances from Dean and Max on guitar, MD dance, a poem from Sian, Lee from PEAK Fc on piano, and the first showing of the Girlie Goo’s documentary.

Having guest speakers, such as former Lord Mayor Christine O’Hara, and a variety of activities like performances, magic acts, and food, added excitement and energy to the event. It’s also wonderful to hear that the Director of Children’s Services from Knowsley MBC was able to attend and provide such positive feedback, recognising the young people as a “credit to themselves and Knowsley” and calling the event “the jewel in the crown.” That’s high praise and a testament to the quality and enthusiasm of everyone involved!

We invited More than Minute to the event to catch a visual representation of the day – you can see this here.
