Ni Maxine’s Noise story

Where did they start?

Ni Maxine completed our LIMF X Noise project which ran through several lockdowns and culminated in a collaborative performance. Featuring all the artists from the LIMF X Noise project, the performance was streamed live at ‘Melodic Distraction’ and as a result Ni Maxine was selected for ‘Autonomy’, a project funded by the PRS Foundation. The goal of ‘Autonomy’ was to give four artists from Noise Project the opportunity to plan, write, record and release a piece of music with complete support from Noise Staff, recording engineers, producers, music industry experts and PR managers.

What did we do?

The Autonomy project was a fantastic opportunity to partner with some incredible music industry figures – including What Studios, Culture Deck and Yaw Owusu of LIMF, Nothin’ But The Music and PowerUp.

It offered Ni the chance to work on her first release, and she used the Noise studio to develop her debut song ‘Strange Love’ with full professional rehearsals and arrangement prep. After two days in What Studios, the track was mixed by Noise partner Gili Goldberg and released with PR Support from Culture Deck.

Where are they now?

On its release, ‘Strange Love’ received widespread acclaim, including national radio airplay through BBC radio. We are very proud of her and delighted she chose to be a part of Autonomy.

Since taking part in the programme, Ni Maxine is emerging as of the most exciting artists in the country, with several sold out headlining shows and plenty of well-earned national media attention under her belt.
