50 miles for 50 years of Knowsley!
This Friday 3rd May as part of the Knowsley team’s ongoing commitment to health and wellbeing, some of the workforce will be downing tools to participate in a charity bike ride – with a difference!
The team will be using the power of their pedal, to cycle and produce smoothies and fresh juice for the community on their new MYA ‘Smoothie Bikes’. The bikes are brand new, have not been used before, and have been bought especially to educate young people about health and well-being, the benefits of exercise and discussions around making better choices.
Staff will be cycling 50 miles on the static bike, in recognition of the project’s local authority Knowsley celebrating 50 years of being a borough!
Alongside this, the team hope to raise awareness of their health offer for young people, signpost to the THiNK website for a range of resources, help and advice, and raise money for THRIVE – a new day centre/respite service which offers a bespoke service for young adults aged 18+ with learning disabilities and complex needs.
So please, pop on down, support the team, enjoy a smoothie and help us raise funds for this vital service!
